Home Swap Szczecin: Cosy apartment in north-western Poland:))

You are welcome to come and explore the wonderfully green city of Szczecin! It is located just 20 minutes from the Polish-German border, and a 1 hour drive from the Baltic Sea. Great for a city break filled with shopping & dining out & concerts at the Philharmonic Hall in Szczecin (which won the Mies van der Rohe award for architecture) are definitely a treat for classical music lovers.

A visit to Szczecin is also a nice stopover if you are heading to the seaside or to the Polish lakeside – the nearest being Pojezierze Drawskie.

My apartment is located in an old townhouse (built in 1918), and I kept it in that style, with old wooden floors and windows. It is also conveniently located in the city center, close to a nice park and many small restaurants.

The apartment is not very posh, I’m afraid, but it has a soul and 2 balconies:))

About the location

Home Swap Szczecin: Szczecin (shcheh-cheen) is a charming, port city located on the Oder River, one hour’s drive from the Baltic Sea, in Northwest Poland. It’s known for its 19th-century Chobry Embankment. The St. James Cathedral with a 14th-century triptych, stained-glass windows and a tower with sweeping city views. The renovated Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle, which is now a cultural center. Szczecin’s population is a little over 400,000, surprisingly making it one of the largest cities in Poland. The streets of the old town, and the city center are calm and quite. At its water’s edge, Szczecin is also a bustling port city with much to see and do!

First erected in 1428 and reconstructed in 1944. The Ducal Castle of Szczecin was the residence of the dukes of Pomerania-Stettin. The castle also looms over central Szczecin with its gothic facade, and its interiors are used for various historical events.
