Cedar House is a c16th historic 4 double bedroom house which has been lovely renovated over the past 5yrs to form our perfect family home. It has a country-style bespoke wooden kitchen with separate utility and pantry which leads onto an oak frame garden room. In addition downstairs is a large reception room with wood burning stove, a family/playroom, and a downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs you can find 4 large double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 with large walk-in shower and free standing bath) and 1 shower room.

It sits within half by acre of gardens and grounds which also include a separate 1 bedroom self-contained cottage, oak framed car port, shed and greenhouse.

It is situated within walking distance (uphill for part of the way) of Painswick village centre, famous for St Mary’s Church, known for it’s 99 yew trees and tabletop tombs, a photographer’s dream. Legend has it that the Devil won’t let a hundredth tree grow. Painswick, known as ‘The Queen of the Cotswolds’ nestles into the hillside and is characterised by beautiful honey coloured stone buildings, dating back to the C15th. Painswick is also home to the country’s oldest bowling green.

For those that would like to eat out, you can access many places locally for breakfast or dinner. (Unless the area is under a localised lockdown)

About the area

Only a few minutes walk away in the village there are also plenty of options food options, most will need prior reservations including;

-St Michael’s bistro is a lovely family run restaurant serving home cooked locally sourced meals.
-Painswick Pooch is our local dog friendly coffee shop

If you fancy a drive or a longer walk, The Waypoint located on the Painswick Golf Course offers breakfast, coffee and cake, stone baked pizza/light bites and has a good outdoor area or Painswick Roccoco Garden has a lovely cafe. If visiting Painswick Beacon you can also find a Lucy at The Box a converted horse trailer into coffee cart.
-Every Thursday there is a morning market 8.15-9.45 selling freshly made bread, local meat, eggs, coffee and various other local food and a fish stall.

We are also perfectly placed for attractions in the wider area, including:
