Home Swap Tasmania: We have a large home with 3 queen size bedrooms for home swap in Tasmania. There is a balcony along the northern side of the house which looks across the river towards the Cadbury factory. There is a BBQ deck outside. We have two mountain bicycles, a folding bike and a road bike; a car and a people mover. The north-facing aspect means the sun passively heats the house all day. There is a modern kitchen with a dishwasher.
Montrose is an older suburb of Hobart perched high on the southern shore of the Derwent River. It is a 15-minute drive to the heart of Hobart, but only 5 minutes to the local shopping centre at Glenorchy.
There is an intercity bike track which runs from Hobart Cenotaph to Granton alongside the rail track – great for bike lovers.

About the location

Home Swap Tasmania: Every Saturday there is the famous Salamanca market in town with crafts and produce for sale at very competitive prices. On Sunday morning the Farmers Market is held with fresh fruit and vegetables plus Tasmanian made food and wine for sale.
North Hobart restaurant strip is 10 minutes drive for those who don’t want to cook every night of the week.
The MONA museum can be seen from the balcony and TMAG (The Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery) is in town. Port Arthur Historic site is 90 minutes drive away and Richmond Historic village is just an hour away.
Mt Field National Park is 90 minutes away with its alpine ski fields – although Mt Wellington also gets snow on it at any time of year and that is only 30 minutes drive to the summit!
