Home Swap Denmark: Our house was built in 1987. 1800 square feet in a beautiful area, located in the middle of Denmark in an old preserved village with some half-timbered houses, and a little 900 years old church. (one of the oldest churches in Denmark) is our home for home swap. We have 5 minutes of walking distance to the beach. Our house is a primary residence which contains: A large dining- and a living room with a wood-burning stove. 2 offices (WiFi), 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, kitchen with all modern appliances, and a scullery with dryer, washing machine, and deep-freezer. Fireplace, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one computer-room with internet access. Large living/dining room. We have 18000 square feet of quiet and peaceful landscaped garden with a patio where you will be able to barbecue. In the Summertime sunset will be about 11 pm. The beach is on the west side, so it is very enjoyable to watch the sunset on the beach. too!

What you will love in the neighborhood

Located 10 kilometers from the beautiful old town named “Middelfart” (translated is the name of our city: ”middle speed”).

Middelfart is built on a peninsula, so it is just so marvelous to walk around the peninsula. You can for example park the car by the harbor and from there start walking to the west along the waterfront and through the wood. Make a break and enjoy the view of the two bridges. Continue all way around the peninsula. Also, you can walk back through the old streets of the city where very old houses are located (some of them more than 500 years old).

Enjoy shopping or visit the little town museum or the museum of decorative arts. Or you can have a little dinner by the restaurant at the waterfront. The “Marina” located next to the golf course in the South of Middelfart. At all our area offers a lot of possibilities. Around here are many small towns with houses that are several hundred years old as well as we have beaches, woods, fields, and castles. Close to us, we have the Castle of Egeskov. That castle is a museum, too.

Home Swap Denmark: 30 minutes driving time to Odense (the town of H.C. Andersen and an old village museum etc. ). It’s 1 hour of driving time to the original Legoland. Driving time to Givskud Lion Animal park is 1-hour away, which is very exciting to children. 1 hour driving time to Aarhus and “The old town” museum). 1-hour drive to “The Atlantic Ocean” where it is possible to drive one`s car directly along the coastline in the sand of the beaches, Or you can go swimming in the very big waves.

The border of Germany is also 1-hour away. 2-2 1/2 hours driving time to Copenhagen where you among other things also can explore: Tivoli, The Little Mermaid, The Castle of Rosenborg where you can see the crown jewel, and the Castle of Amalienborg where our queen and her family are living. You can go to Hilleroed to see The Castle of Frederiksborg, and you can continue to Helsingoer where The Castle of Kronborg (Hamlet) is located, and Louisiana (The museum of arts) and much, much more). EVERYTHING is just close to!

About us

Jens and I are retired responsible elderly couple (a teacher and an accountant). Our children have grown up, so now we have grandchildren who we enjoy. However, when we are traveling, it is only me and my husband named Jens who will be doing the home swap.

We are non-smokers, outdoors people. Jens and I enjoy traveling, skiing, canoeing, hiking, etc., but we also like to socialize with friends and family. We love our home which we use to take good care of, as well as we of course also will take good care of your home. Jens and I have a kind of second home as we use to rent out in the summertime (July and mid-August), but out of season if our home is being used for a home swap we can stay there, during your stay in our residence.
