Home Swap Cambridge: We are offering our extended, cosy and amenable house for home swap. We have an eclectic taste and have furnished the house in modern European style and items from when we lived in South East Asia.

On the ground floor, we have a homely living room with large smart TV (with Netflix and Amazon Prime) and DVD player, sofa bed for temporary guests, plenty of books and games. The large, extended kitchen/dinner is flooded with natural light and can cater for large dinner parties of 10. We are keen cooks, so it`s very well equipped. The kitchen opens up to a decking with outside dining table, BBQ and grassed lawn under a large tree; great for relaxing in the summer on our hammock.

Upstairs is the family bathroom and two bedrooms. The first is our daughter`s single room, with a single-sized platform bed, under which a fold-out mattress can be used. At the front of the house is our twin boy`s large room with two single beds (new beds will arrive soon). In the loft conversion above, is the master bedroom with a double bed and en suite shower and toilet.

ACCESSIBILITY: Step up to the front entrance and small step to the rear decking outside back door. Decking is raised to the garden. 3 floors in the main house with a fairly narrow stairway to the loft conversion.

About the location

Home Swap Cambridge: Cambridge needs very little introduction, but if you`re not too familiar we can provide an insider`s guide to the best historic walks, museum`s, art gallery`s, colleges, restaurants and pubs to visit.

We live on a quiet road off a main circulatory road leading into Cambridge. Our neighbours are super quiet and very friendly so feel free to have a chat when you bump into them. Our street is just over the bridge from a large shopping centre where you can find supermarkets (Asda and M&S Food), a discount designer shop (TKMaxx), electrical (Curry`s PC World) and homewares. There`s a double-decker bus café serving South American snacks and coffee and a Starbucks and Costa Coffee there also.

There`s a very good Chinese Takeaway down the road too. Within 2 mins walking distance there`s a playground and a huge common for walks/runs. The famous river Cam is 15 mins walk, so you watch the university rowers training or go punting through the beautiful historic centre. The train station is 20 mins walk, local boutique cafes, restaurants and shops on Mill Road 10mins walk, and the city centre 20mins walk.

A car is necessary if you want to explore the amazing surroundings, as we also recommend visiting the countryside. We`re lucky to have beautiful villages, market towns and river walks that are worth exploring. There`s fishing, horse-riding, cycling, boating, golf and other activities nearby. The historic horse racing town of Newmarket is only a 20min drive away and holds fantastic evening races throughout the summer. There are also numerous National Trusts within 30mins drive. We`re only 1.5hrs away from some of the UK`s most stunning coastlines of Norfolk and Suffolk. London is also under an hour by train. We`re only a 40mins drive from Stansted Airport, which is served by EasyJet and Ryanair.
