The house is in a safe, quiet mid-century suburb. We live in the center of Coastal Orange County, in Costa Mesa, the “city of the arts.” We are 5 miles from the beach where you can learn to surf, rent boats, kayaks and paddleboards, and about 20 minutes from Disneyland. We are an hour from LA’s touristy spots like the Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Sign and an hour from Legoland. There are plenty of gorgeous hiking spots in our area and world-class shopping if that’s your thing. Our town is full of great foodie restaurants with outdoor patios. We’re walking distance from a fantastic farmer’s market, and our city has two world-class theaters as well as several good concert venues.

We have a large family with an open-concept living room/kitchen, five bedrooms and four bathrooms, pool and hot tub, skate ramps, bikes, and several outdoor seating areas. We have fast business-grade wifi throughout the house. We have books and games for all ages in our home. Our dining table seats 8 with 4 more seats at our kitchen island and we have a huge sectional to fit everyone comfortably. We’ve got a Roku with access to Netflix, Youtube, Apple TV and Amazon Prime. Need to work or do remote school while here? Each bedroom has at least one desk, and there is a desk in the living room and a “classroom” in the stair landing, for a total of 8 desk workspaces in the house.
Guest access
You will be able to use the whole house. There is also backhouse studio that will be empty and locked during your stay unless otherwise agreed upon (it is under renovation and not included in the bedroom count or photos for this listing.) This is our primary residence, so please note that drawers and closets will be full but a garment rack will be provided in each room.

Home Swap Southern California: Please note this house is suited for 6 adults maximum, plus 4 kids.

Our check in window is 4pm, and checkout is at 11am. Both are unhosted, and you will receive the door code 2 days prior to your stay.

The house will be equipped with Public Goods shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your stay, in refillable containers. Please enjoy during your stay but leave behind for us to clean and refill for the next guest. Our house comes with bath towels, pool towels, and robes. If you use the pool towels, please wash and dry them before you check out. All other soiled linens (sheets, bath towels, robes) can be left in the downstairs hallway.

We absolutely cannot accommodate any pets due to severe allergies, including service animals, because of our family’s asthmatic members. Our home is a non-smoking home, and smoking is only permitted in the backyard designated area. Smoking is not permitted in front of the house . While cannabis is legal in California, we do not allow cannabis smoking or vaping inside OR OUTSIDE of the house. If you would like to imbibe we recommend procuring legal THC tinctures or edibles. We do not permit cannabis delivery service drop-offs to the house, so please visit one of our many legal dispensaries to browse or pick-up online orders in person.

The sliders in the living room and back left bedroom lead directly out to the pool so please take great care with non-swimmers. The sliders will be equipped with alarms that are turned on for any stays involving children. Turning the alarms off is at your own risk. The pool starts at 3 feet and has a steep drop about ⅔ of the way towards the hot tub. If you use the skate ramps please wear helmets.

We have a washer and dryer that you are welcome to use during your stay.
