Hello! Home Swap Barnstorf: We welcome all honest and respectful people in our house, regardless of their origin, religion, sexual orientation or social position. Children are welcome as well as adults.

Our surrounding area offers great opportunities for excursions, especially for people with an interest in history, nature and North German life. In Barnstorf you can play football-golf and we have a canoe rental, a nice outdoor swimming pool and different playgrounds for children.

About the location

Home Swap Barnstorf: To Bremen and Osnabrück it is a 30-40 minutes drive by train.
To the Northern See (from where you reach the Frisian Islands), Hannover or Groningen (NL) it takes 1,5 – 2,5 hours by car. Also Hamburg and Amsterday (NL) are nice places for a day trip.

Our home is situated in Lower Saxony, between Bremen and Osnabrück.
We live in a quiet environment. Our home has two floors with two citchens.
The house was completely ecologically rebuilt and renovated in 2019/2020.

Outside the house we have a little garden and a terasse and there also live our two rabbits (Dr. Muffin and Dr. Kuchen). We hope, our exchange partner would take care of them. But, of course, if you want to be away for some time, a friend can take care of the animals too.

About our family

We are members of an agricultural initiative based on solidarity. If you want, you can get a large box of organically grown vegetables for free once a week.

Our house is a non-smokers home and we thank you for understanding that we ask also friends and guests to smoke only outside.

We are a bilingual family. Kari’s mothertongue is Finnish, Petra’s first language is German.

Kari is an architect. Petra is a cultural scientist. Our son Aaron is 13 years old and we are all used to travel. We get familiar with new situations easiely and we treat other people’s property with respect. We value animals and plants and if you have some, we would take care of them with love.

Due to allergies we are, unfortunately, not able to exchange with a partner who has a cat or dog inside his house.
